Who You Are

You're a proven hands-on engineering leader, you enjoy leading a comprehensive team of cross-functional stream engineers and technicians and developing complex systems IOT products while accomplishing the goals of the organization. You bring to the team strong communication skills, energy, and attention to detail.


What You'll Do

The Director of Engineering will have an integral part in growing Aeroseal Inc. business to become the world leader in leak sealing solutions.  Our sealing product lines are used in building envelopes, air ducts, gas distribution lines, airplanes, etc.


The Director will be responsible for recruiting talent, developing and leading a comprehensive team of engineers, technicians, outside firms and consultants. The diverse team will include software, electrical, mechanical and chemical engineers to create the world changing technology. You will inspire staff while creating a culture of exceptional competence that delivers asymmetrical results. (i.e. results that vastly outperform incumbent industry norms)


Skills and Experience You'll Need to Do It


Position Summary:

  • Lead and grow the innovation division of the organization, building a highly professional and motivated team with a culture that makes Aeroseal the place to work for talented engineers
  • Deliver integrated hardware and software solutions with consistently high quality and reliability, in a timely and predictable manner
  • Be responsible for the overall product development life cycle.
  • Technical Effort Management: resource estimates and schedules for development of new releases, features, and products in an agile environment.
  • Establish a philosophy of modular, well-defined and documented product construction and operational specifications to ensure reliability, maintainability and efficient customer support


Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant work experience managing an engineering team and technical projects is required.

Our ideal candidate must have hands-on experience delivering integrated mechanical/hardware/software solutions, successfully developing products in a managerial capacity, bringing them to the market, and facilitating/tracking product performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Strong understanding of engineering processes, life-cycle methodology, configuration/application management, release management, as well as system verification and testing
  • Experienced with New Product Development (products or systems) from concept to finished product and into commercialization
  • Experienced designing products with embedded systems (mechanical, electrical or software)
  • Must have the flexibility to address a dynamic market and customer needs with rapid turnaround time.
  • Proven ability to recruit, retain and grow world-class managers, engineers and software developers.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-departmentally to drive a project to completion within budget and timeline.
  • Reputation for creating and leading a high-performance culture; a high-energy individual who can motivate and energize others
  • Technical experience in the following areas preferred
    • Fluid mechanics
    • Heat transfer
    • Mechanical design
    • Software development
    • Wireless communication
    • Embedded IOT solutions
    • Understanding of data mining, data cleansing, data quality and data management
