Who You Are

You love finding ways to make things better...even if they're already deemed good enough. You are relentless in your quest to improve processes and helping team members become more efficient. You also enjoy putting your technical acumen to the test, taking a hands-on approach to solving electro-mechanical issues.


What You'll Do

Working closely with the Product & Application Engineer, the Product & Application Technician will be responsible for supporting continuous improvement efforts across operations. The Product & Application Technician should have high electro-mechanical aptitude, strong troubleshooting capability, be self-driven and enjoy being hands on.


Responsibilities include:

  • Execute experiments from a predefined test plan, collect data to perform root cause analysis and/or corrective action for customer through production issues.
  • Using sound manufacturing practice, evaluate and define repeatable processes to streamline production.
  • Build, test and recommend product redesigns and new product designs for the production floor.
  • Guide, educate and mentor team members as necessary.
  • Build, test and validate tools and fixtures to standardize process optimization from concept through implementation.  
  • Evaluate alternative materials to be used for product improvements, cost savings, and efficiency improvements.
  • Initiate and modify visual work instructions, production procedures, test reports and drawings to define process.  
  • Modify existing production documentation as needed to include field and service collateral and test reports to align with defined process.
  • Assist in field trials and/or field applications.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.


Experience You'll Need to Do It

Candidate should be a self-starter with a high level of ownership, prioritizing deliverables and leading a team while providing clear goals and timelines.

  • 5+ years of electro-mechanical assembly experience with solid trouble shooting aptitude.
  • Solder and crimping experience (formal training preferred).
  • Ability to define, build, test and implement tools and fixtures.
  • Ability to read drawings and mechanical/electrical wiring schematics.
  • Solid knowledge of computers, electronic equipment and software/driver installations.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Self-directed and driven.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification and/or knowledge preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
