Aeroseal Needs an R&D Technician

Who are we? A fast-growing company with award-winning technology that has created new products that are disrupting well-established industries.

Yes, we have fun company amenities including a ping pong table, popcorn machine and company happy hours. Our team members play as hard as they work. But it takes more than amenities to be a great place to work.

How is Aeroseal different?

We are:

  • Restless with curiosity and always asking if there's a better way
  • Passionate about turning our customers' problems into opportunities to grow their business
  • Constantly learning, because we understand we must try new approaches to get new outcomes.

There is more to our culture of innovation. But we also have a sense of urgency, so we won't list them all here.

What's the rush? Well, our company has an ambitious mission.

Aeroseal wants to make a lasting impact on people and the world around us, improving their lives and making the world a better place in which to live.

And we need your help to make it happen.

What You'll Do

The R&D Technician will be responsible for building new products involving electro-mechanical, instrumentation and computer components. The ideal candidate enjoys being hands on with tools and materials and can create a build path from concept stage sketches to prototype.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build prototypes; carry out testing of new designs in the lab and field, tweaking designs as required before production launch.
  • Review vendor component technical data sheets, source components (both off-shelf and custom designs).
  • Create new technical drawings and specifications, defining critical characteristics
  • Conduct experiments using ASTM standards or defined test methods for new designs including systematic documentation of work, test apparatus and results.
  • Conduct field trials of developed products.
  • Manage Bill of Materials during the launch phase; create specification documentation before release for production.
  • Maintain a clean working environment in lab and restock necessary parts in R&D as needed.

Experience You'll Need to Do It

You must be comfortable with a high level of project ownership, prioritizing deliverables and leading a team while providing clear goals and timelines.

  • Experience with tools to build prototypes and ability to operate mini lathe, drill press, bench grinder and band saw.
  • Technical trade school (minimum 2 year) with at least 5 years related experience in Electrical or Mechanical fields.
  • Experience with using engineering drawing tools (like AutoCAD, Solidworks or equivalent) preferred.
  • Prior working knowledge in at least one of the following fields - fluid mechanics, nozzle sprayers design, IoT/Wifi devices and integrating analog/digital sensors and electronic equipment with mechanical components
  • Should be detail oriented, well organized and be able to systematically log test results.
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office, Excel required.
  • Ability to lift weight up to 50lbs.
