Who You Are

You love breaking things down and analyzing them, especially sealants and adhesives. You know your work will help chart the future of our product offering and are excited by the challenge of applying well-established technologies into new applications.


What You'll Do

The R&D Scientist will be responsible for creating a new sealant material with desired physical and functional properties. The ideal candidate will enjoy being hands-on with development and characterization of the desired sealant formulation. Ability to develop a formulation path from concept stage sketches to a working prototype is necessary. He/she must stay up to date regarding relevant patent and technical literature, give technical presentations and write detailed technical reports.


Responsibilities include:

  • Develop new high-performance sealant products from ideation to commercialization.
  • Understand regulatory concerns and changes with regards to EPA, FDA and ASTM.
  • Maintain laboratory and laboratory equipment in compliance with 5S and ISO, knowledge of test methods and respective SOPs
  • Collect data consistent with the scientific method and general accepted lab methods.
  • Develop new SDS sheets for any new formulations
  • Exercise good housekeeping, lab practices and safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and Aeroseal specific EHS expectations.
  • Responsible for scale-up from approved sample to full commercialization.


Experience You'll Need to Do It

Candidate should be a self-starter with a high level of ownership, prioritizing deliverables and leading a team while providing clear goals and timelines.

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Chemistry, Material Science or a related field plus 3 years in a lab environment.
  • Experience with adhesive and sealant chemistry, end use applications.
  • Must be able to review technical documentation, data sheets of chemical ingredients.
  • Maintenance of laboratory and laboratory equipment in compliance with 5S and ISO, knowledge of test methods and writing respective SOPs
  • Be hands on.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office tools (Excel, Word)
  • Project planning and management tracking
