Who You Are

You are genuinely into continuous improvement, even a bit relentless about wanting to make good things even better. You will drive improvement efforts across teams to help improve product performance and technical support.

 

What You'll Do

The Product & Application Engineer will be responsible for continuous improvements, sustaining engineering work for the Aeroseal product line by driving design, service and collateral improvement efforts. The goal of this position is to improve field performance by reducing escapes, field turn backs (repairs), customer downtime and technical help calls.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead implementation of root cause analysis and corrective actions for all field feedback (field tech calls, repairs and training processes).
  • Lead redesign efforts for products and accessories to improve the quality and field performance of machines.
  • Resolve vendor and component quality issues.
  • Identify solutions to resolve field application issues. Work with alternate vendor products, updating documentations for field technicians. Create a standard workflow and proper method for technical teams and design/run experiments as needed for sealant process.
  • Assess customer's needs related to code compliance and initiate efforts to help support dealer efforts.
  • Assist in creating content (field bulletins, manuals, write-ups, instructional videos) which help dealers effectively use and maintain their machine.
  • Configure, engineer and control new changes being introduced.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) in early design phase, pre-production VWIs (Visual Work Instructions), tooling, capability and repeatability studies including supplier qualification and scoring.
  • Effectively perform DoEs (Design of Experiments) and lead certifications and qualify work (UL/ ASTM tests) needed to support field efforts.

 

Experience & Skills You'll Need to Do It

Candidate should be a self-starter with a high level of ownership, prioritizing deliverables and leading a team while providing clear goals and timelines.

  • Graduate degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
  • Must have at least 2-3 years' experience in a sustaining engineering role.
  • Solid understanding of Lean/six Sigma tools and applications
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are required
  • Must be detail oriented, well organized and able to systematically document test results.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office; Excel and Power Point required.
